Red Sea / Sharm el Sheikh / Ras Nasrani

  Description

Cape of the Christian or Ras Nasrani as said in Arabic, is an ideal area for easy drift diving and is also suitable for a circling loop dive. The dive begins from a sandy plateau at a depth of approximately 6 meters, where at 12 meters you can already expect to see beautiful red anemone. Heading northwards towards the cape, it could be that you are carried by a weak to moderate current, which tends to get faster near the headland, gliding you past large gorgonians, in approximately 20 meters depth, until you encounter interesting colonies of mushroom-shaped Porites coral heads sp.; that beyond the cape become even more numerous.

Ras Nasrani is the ideal place to observe giant shells, as well, this area has the highest Tridanca sp., being the area with the highest population density of this creature in the entire Red Sea.
