Red Sea / Sharm el Sheikh / Ras Mohammed / Shark Observatory

  Description

The Ras Mohammed Wall, sometimes very appropriately known as the Shark Observatory, is the ideal site to make a steep wall dive. Whether it is sometimes encountering Whale sharks or large pelagic predators, the dive at Shark Observatory will always remain somewhat mystical and mysterious. The view along the impressive overgrown steep wall into the endless depths, also makes its contribution to this dive. Although many divers today dive directly before the Shark Observatory Bay, the classic and more impressive part of this dive already begins much earlier somewhat north therefrom.

After descending to a depth of approximately 15 meters you can explore the wall, which is rich in Alcyonarians, gullies, shelters and caves swarming with life, without losing sight of the blue, from which Jackfish, barracuda and some sharks might suddenly appear.
After the steep wall makes a sudden turn direction west you will encounter some large gorgonians and, further above, a majestic grotto.
