Laguna Reef is divided into a northern and southern half, which both are marked by a lighthouse. The outer side of the Laguna Reef, the area between the lighthouse from North Laguna and South Laguna, is considerd to be an interesting dive site. This area is exposed to strong tides and determines the direction of the dive, which primarily takes place in the afternoon.
South of the lighthouse froum South Laguna, found in a depth from 15 to 25 meters, is a spacious plateau with large table corals, which overflow into a steep wall filled with rich reef fauna.

Furthermore the Kormoran wreck lies on the northern side of the Laguna Reef. The Kormoran ship was constructed in 1963 in the shipyards of Rostock. In 1984, loaded with phosphate, the Kormoran struck Laguna Reef due to a navigational error. The impact ruined the entire bow, and two additional leaks on the port side made the deck irreparable.
Diving at this ship warrents no difficulties whatsoever. The best time to dive is in the afternoon or during the change of the tide, as at this time the visibility is at its best.

The stern devices, the ships screws, the motor, the rudder and the winches that are secured on deck are all very well preserved and, on the bow side, the name of the ship is still clearly legible.
