Red Sea / Sharm el Sheikh / Ras Katy

  Description

Ras Katy lies a few hundred meters west of Temple and has, in many respects, a similar configuration. Entry onto the boat is extremely comfortable, there is hardly any wind, waves and currents, therefore the ship is able to moor very close to the reef. The dive begins at the coral pinnacle, which starts at an initial depth of 5 meters and reaches a depth of 16 to 18 meters. There you will be able to see some grogonians. During the investigation of the sandy plateau you will stumble across two more perfectly rich coral pinnacles only a distance of a few dozen meters from one another that are filled with numerous specimens of Broccoli coral.

These pinnacles are a preferred domicile of abundant and varied reef fauna, in which Butterflyfish, among others, can be observed. In the crevices of the pinnacles you will also see Glassfish, Lionfish and Bigeyes, along the sandy bottom Crocodilefish, Bluespotted stingrays and some Scorpionfish linger.
