The jacket is also apart of your equipment, and one which contributes immensely to your safety. For this reason we recommend that you also have an annual service carried out on your jacket.
Parts of the jacket to be test are: the funtional capabilities and if the inflation hose is leakproof, if the intake and dump valve, as well as the overpressure relief valve are funtioning, the actual condition of all of the buckles and closures and the buoyancy inflator. The closures of the integrated lead are also not to be neglected.
Also, with respect to hygiene and salt deposits on the interior of the jacket, every now and then you should keep an eye on this and, if necessary, have it cleaned during the next service.

The yearly service of regulators should be a must for every diver. A reliable functioning regulator and the therewith connected breathing comfort makes diving not only safer but also more comfortable and more relaxing.
